The Accessibility Design Competition (ADC) was initially launched in 2020 by the RMIT Careers, Alumni & Industry Relations department, in consultation with RMIT Wellbeing’s Equitable Learning and Accessibility (ELA) team. Since then, the competition has become an annual event that provides unique opportunities for students to consult with accessibility and industry mentors. Through this collaboration, they aim to generate innovative ideas that promote inclusiveness for people with disabilities in the workplace.
ADC 2025 invites you to propose solutions that break down barriers and improve the lives of people with disabilities. This year, ADC’s goals focus on two key areas:
-
Support businesses in creating greater job opportunities and fostering an inclusive environment for people with disabilities; and/or
-
Assist individuals with disabilities in enhancing their employability skills.
The solutions proposed in the ADC are not limited to physical products aimed at assisting individuals with disabilities. Instead, the competition warmly welcomes all types of solutions that focus on enhancing their employability, whether they are tangible or intangible. These solutions may directly target people with disabilities or cater to those who seek to assist them, and can be designed for companies to create systems that better support people with disabilities in the workplace.
